The CCCEPA Drama Department is a professional training program that provides students with the skills and techniques necessary to pursue a career in acting. Students develop an understanding of Stanislavsky, Adler, Meisner, and Chekhov techniques in addition to the study of voice and stage movement.
Acting is the core element of the curriculum. Students also study scene work, monologues and auditioning and improvisation. Upper-level acting courses include the study of Shakespeare and other more advanced acting styles, including acting for television/film. Many guest artists are brought in to work with the students in special master class sessions. A full slate of extracurricular dramatic productions is presented in the Wilson Studio Theatre each season.
