CCCEPA’s Technical Theatre Department is a professional training program that provides students with the skills and techniques necessary to pursue a career in technical theater. The areas of study include lighting design, sound design, technical direction, set design/construction, costume design, wig & makeup design, stage properties, and stage management. Concepts and aesthetics are taught using contemporary teaching methods that utilize state-of-the-art equipment. Professionally produced events in our Reece Theatre, Wilson Studio Theatre, and at the Cobb Civic Center’s Anderson Theatre provide our students with practical hands-on work experiences.
Technical theatre students graduate with a full portfolio and the training to pursue technical theatre majors at our nation’s elite college and university programs. CCCEPA technical theatre graduates are working with professional theaters, opera companies, and cruise lines throughout the world.
